Where's your go-to place to fly?

When I lived in Florida, Albert Whitted Field and Venice were my go-to places. Then I moved to Poughkeepsie, NY area and flew out of KPOU. Loved to fly to Sky Acres for lunch. Then sold my plane and not flying now. :(

Shoddy Pre-buy inspection, where to complain?

Update. The shop in question offered an acceptable resolution. To all who commented, this was supposed to be an extensive inspection. I'm in New York and the plane was in Ohio. I could not be there for the inspection, but spent many hours on the phone talking to the manager of the shop before...

Shoddy Pre-buy inspection, where to complain?

I had a pre-buy inspection done on my plane. The shop missed some items that turned out to be very expensive to repair. The exhaust shroud was in very bad condition and totally needs replacing, and the alternator belt is badly cracked, almost all the way through. These were very visible from the...

83 Piper Dakota PA28-236 exhaust, shroud and Parts Manual

Greg - What did you come away with on the shroud? I'm having to redo my shroud on my 1980 Dakota. Same thing. The separators, carb heat shroud, half-rounds, etc. Probably the whole assembly, not sure. Waiting on the pics and writeup from my mechanic.

Right rudder and toe brakes, Archer II vs. Dakota

Yeah, that's what I'm gathering from talking to other pilots. The Archer was never an issue, as that barely took any effort. The Dakota needs the use of the rudder trim, from what I was advised. I'll be testing that over the weekend. Thanks!

Right rudder and toe brakes, Archer II vs. Dakota

I used to own an Archer II, and just bought a Dakota this weekend. The first two things I notice in the Dakota that were not prevalent in the Archer is, a bar that goes across by the top of the toe brakes and the huge amount of right rudder required during takeoff and climb. I haven't looked...

    Garmin Pilot databases...What's included?

In the process of buying a plane now that has a GNS530 in it. Going to be taking over the subscription on that for what's left on the updates. So, what you are saying, I don't need the add-on database?

    Garmin Pilot databases...What's included?

I'm looking at getting Garmin Pilot for my iPad. Looking at the subscriptions, I figure I'll get the U.S. Premium so I can get the geo-referenced airport taxi charts. At the bottom of the Garmin page, where you select which subscription you want, there is an add-on section where you can add...

For Sale: Aircraft Five Planes for Sale 09/11/2017

He originally had it priced at $150,000. I emailed him and asked why so high. His response was, "I put a lot of $$$ into this plane and I want to get that money out of it." I told him good luck. He's going to sit on it. Now, he's dropped the price by $5100. He's still going to sit on it at that...

For Sale: Aircraft Still looking for an Archer II or Dakota

I've been watching the usual aviation sites for a plane, but nothing that is worthwhile or has what I am looking for. I'm looking for either an Archer II or a Dakota with TTAF in the 3xxx range. Engine hours are irrelevant, so long as price reflects an overhaul if needed. Specifically, I'm...
