    Rudder Problem

It's a Cessna 150f. Not really a high time aircraft considering the age. But I assume there have been quick fixes throughout the years.

    Rudder Problem

Yeah I did a pre-flight but apparently didn't notice this. It definitely something I will look closely at now rather than just check the deflection of the control surfaces. Going to have an a & p check it out.

    Rudder Problem

Long story short, it appears my rudder is canted slightly to the left. While I wait for a hangar to open up at my airport, storms rolled in this morning with high winds. I noticed the tail of my plane was way left of where I parked it. I am assuming the wind blew the rudder hard and caused this...

    MOA comms

Thank you for the info. Now if I call them up directly how do I contact them using that call sign?

    MOA comms

Should I contact the AFB to let them know my intentions of landing at HUBER E70? I know we can fly through MOA's, but this one has remarks of "ACFT TRSNG THRU A-638 BLO 3000 FT MSL, CTC RY SUPERVISORY UNIT (CALL SIGN CHARLIE BROWN) WITH PSN AND ALT; CHARLIE BROWN - 122.975, 271.2." It seems...

    VFR over the top

That's kind of what I was looking for. Is it easy to tell when it's about to close up. There is a need for more learning about weather when it comes to piloting. There is not enough when it comes to getting your private. Obviously, the need to become proficient and comfortable when flying above...

    VFR over the top

It was more dense than the pictures show in some areas. Just trying to get an idea even with light clouds like this. I wouldn't be worried about flying over this, but it's more about what could be ahead. The input is good though...

    VFR over the top

I've seen a few posts related to this but haven't seen a definitive answer, of course I guess it varies from pilot to pilot. I will attach a couple pictures of the kind of cloud layer I am talking about, and is it a good idea to go over the top. Also, is there anyway to tell when you may come...

    Flying again...

I'd like to think I did a good job flight planning, going over the route and looking for obstacles but I still seemed unorganized in the cockpit. I think it has to do with trying to learn a system again and get down what all I need. There was a very tall tv antenna as I was getting close to San...

    Flying again...

The plane is actually my brother in laws. He is working on his PPL. I don't have to pay for the plane but I do pay half on other things...hangar, maint, etc. I really like Cleburne, it has a nice long runway and nice hangars.

    Flying again...

Just a little post of my cross-country for those getting back into aviation as I am... After a 12+ year hiatus I took to the skies again Tuesday on a cross-country flight of 240nm round trip. I'll preface this by saying I have just completed my complex endorsement in a Mooney which took about...

Thank you for the quick responses! I am definitely going to research this a lot more.

    Aircraft ownership

So, I have been itching to start flying again after being out of the game for several years after getting my PPL. Remembering back to my flying days renting a plane from my FBO was feasible for an hour or two flight. But i'm wanting to fly more often and take weekend trips. The only reasonable...
