Tray adapter for MX300 Nav/Com needed

Looking to buy the adapter/sleeve for an MX300 to slide in to the really really old Cessna/Arc 300 radio tray. Anyone have one lying around, or know where it can be procured.

How come sometimes my phone charges faster than others?

PC USB ports are limited to about 500ma charging current. Your wall chargers and car chargers are typically 800-1900ma (1900 being the general maximum rate the device will take). Furthermore, the device will charge about twice as fast with it powered off. When the device is on, it is using...

    GXT 330 and ADS-B out

You need to set 1090-IN to ENABLE and UAT-IN to ENABLE. That will trigger the ground towers to respond with full TIS-B traffic, will you see on your stratus or other ADS-B devices. If those are not enabled, the system will assume you don't have any ADS-B in devices and not waste it's time...

    ADS-B UAT Receiver for Computer

The point would not be to pick up the transmissions from the ground towers. The point would be to receive the aircraft's ADS-B out transmission, just like you do on 1090ES. Receiving the ground tower transmissions (TIS-B, FIS-B, and ADS-R) on a computer in your living room would be rather...

    SR-22 ditching 200nm from Hilo

That is awesome. I need to get an FRZ PIN to try that!

    Really bad PA46 accident

If the ailerons had no tension, they're not just going to flop around wildly and corkscrew your plane into the ground.

    ADS-B UAT Receiver for Computer

They're only on 1090ES right now. I wish there was a dual link version but not yet. Given the low number of users on either band, it's not likely to give you much more than you have with just 1090ES.

    Ready in sequence

That would depend where the run-up area is. If it is right at the departure end of the runway, you can be on tower, ready to go, while sitting there in the run up area very easily. Happens all the time.

    Critique my Panel Upgrade Plan

I guess I would question why does the GDL88 have a suppression circuit if there isn't a problem? There may not be a good official answer to the question. By removing the DME, you can use it's antenna and coax for the GDL88. One less thing to install.

    Critique my Panel Upgrade Plan

Don't forget this: Remember a DME is an active high power transmitter. Normally there a suppression circuit between the transponder and the DME to prevent the two from interfering with each other. The DME will interfere with the GDL88 in the same manner without suppression.

Good solution for annoying gas can valves

I just use a funnel now adays. Take moronic cap/spout off and pour.

    VFR flight plans

I generally don't. Even if not using FF, I'm usually in an area populated enough that finding my busted up plane in a tree won't be a problem. There will be plenty of witnesses calling 911 long before Flight Service notices me missing. If I were going to be in unpopulated or mountainous area...

    SR-22 ditching 200nm from Hilo

With a 50kt headwind in a light GA aircraft, I think landing would be the least of the problems. Keeping it from getting blown up, over, and around once stopped sounds like the bigger problem.

    Drunk Drone Pilot

I guarantee he is not a member of the AMA. Their guidelines and rules are irrelevant. And I've already explained why this guy and any other consumers would have no idea what an FRZ or TFR is. Ignorance of the law isn't an excuse for the law, but it is an important factor when you consider why...

    Drunk Drone Pilot

No, and that's not what I said. Common sense would dictate that is a bad idea. But the FRZ is not "the white house". The FRZ is huge. I have no idea why or how it got over the white house. My logical and reasonable assumption is flight over and into the white house complex was accidental. It...

    Drunk Drone Pilot

I'm sorry, was he already charged with a felony? Did I miss where he was arrested, charged, found guilty, and sentenced? Oh wait, no I didn't, cause it hasn't happened. You don't even know what he will or could be charged with. The word felony has never even been mentioned. So yes, he's...

    Drunk Drone Pilot

Wrong. You can't have motivation to do something you don't know about. I don't even know this guy, but I can virtually gaurantee you he's never even heard of the FRZ, SFRA, NOTAM, TFR, or anything else. These are consumer products that do not come with any information about that.

Oh relax. Nobody's life is ruined. You're exaggerating it without knowing anything about it.

    Drunk Drone Pilot

Model aircraft and UAVs are prohibited in the FRZ. So he can be charged with that. The problem with that is the only people that would or could ever know about it actual pilots in the area who have received the training. The average consumer that purchases these toys does not, would not, and...

Inappropriate Use of an Airplane Hangar

That would be a BLEVE :wink2: Officially the abbreviation for Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion. AKA big leveling explosion vaporizing everything. Often takes place in an IDLH atmosphere (Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health). Also known as I Don't Live Here.
