    Wheel falls off

Might be good to have less fuel in the event of a gear collapse, too.

    The death of an insitution

They've had Venture/Explorer Scouts for a long time, which was definitely co-ed.

    The death of an insitution

I had a similarly-worded post queued up but yours captures it pretty well. I grew up playing baseball/soccer/football, my sister played softball/soccer. I never did anything in sports collegiately, but my sister went to college on a full-ride for soccer AND softball. We spent endless hours at...

    The death of an insitution

I'm sure there's a segment of the increased intensity of sports that impacts BSA. I never had an interest in Boy Scouts growing up, and 95% of my friends were not in it, either. We were out exploring the woods, building tents, constructing ramps with our father's tools, or playing sports with...

    The death of an insitution

The BSA enrollment numbers have been steadily falling for a long time. They seem to struggle to stay relevant in the modern age, when more and more kids shun the outdoors aside from sports. Not sure another name change is going to have any impact other than costing them lots of money to re-badge...

Empty cargo planes roam the skies

I don't have a problem with any of them, FedEx, UPS, Amazon, USPS are all fairly reliable in my area. However, USPS is the only one that has a tracking service that never seems to know where your package is until it gets put in your mailbox, lol. UPS will say "on truck out for delivery", FedEx...

the "not worthy of it's own thread" thread

I've had pretty good luck with durability on a few projects with Rustoleum oil-based enamel, but that is with tractors and trailers/metal parts using a $15 Harbor Freight HVLP spray gun.

    Oklahoma is OK I hope

All clear in Tulsa. Had a pretty good tornado up North of Tulsa about 60 miles (Barnsdall/Bartlesville) that did some significant damage. Definitely leveled a few city blocks. Luckily initial reports are saying very few fatalities so far. Could have been worse given the conditions.

    Oklahoma is OK I hope

I saw TIK issued their alerts about the weather on Facebook this morning. Not sure if they expend the fuel/etc. to relocate active fleets for this kind of event or not. Having them hop West to Altus would probably be an improvement over where TIK is, or maybe over to NM (Kirtland I think?).

    Oklahoma is OK I hope

I just heard the OU campus closing announcement over the office weather radio. I don't think I ever had classes cancelled at OU for weather, but I also don't recall the area forecasts quite this extreme. The good part is, everyone should be aware of it because the Weather Forecast Office of...

Enough jobs for the student pilot population?

I don't disagree. I believe he was getting paid pretty well to sit at home when they did the furlough in the 90s. He moved around plenty, from a few spots in the Northeast, down to Atlanta, Washington DC. He eventually just had enough of it and retired. My comment was just to say that it can...

Enough jobs for the student pilot population?

I watched an uncle flying for Delta in the 80s/90s go through a few furloughs before he finally hung it up. Another uncle flew corporate and certainly struggled early-on but eventually landed a great gig where he eventually became chief pilot of a 3-jet (all Falcons) operation. However, he was...
