    Hangar access

I owned at KUGN and it was a requirement. One thing they used it for was annual fire department inspections. It came in handy for me once when I drove 30 min to get there and don't have my hangar key. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

    Kiddos to Oshkosh

Me, my wife, and our 3yo and then 4yo the next year went and camped under the wing. She had lots of fun, with the shows, music, there are a couple kids areas, we watched the movie at the outdoor theater. She's pretty easy going though. We'll probably be back. Sent from my Pixel XL using...

One more would you buy damaged history aircraft?

Mine had a pretty bad base to final incident in '83 (non fatal) Two new wings. It's flow beautifully for me since I've had it the last few years. As others mentioned it was a long time ago and it's been flying since. If it was more recent or hadn't flown as much, I'd be more concerned...

For Sale Accelerated Instrument Training - Fall 2017

It is a great deal and Scott is a hell of an instructor. I just got my IFR with him end of last year. It worked well for me to go away and just focus heads down and finish it up. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

    I hate airlines [rant]

But why take a 30 min commercial flight to begin with. Maybe the area I'm in and TSA and all, but by the time I go to the airport, go through TSA, wait for the delays, I could have certainly driven quicker. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

    N. Myrtle Beach this weekend?

I was just there a week or so ago. Canceled the ski trip for a bum ankle, pointed the nose to warmer weather and ended up at CRE. A fun area out there. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

    tips for communicating

This is what I did. I trained out of a towered airport that was 30 min away. I would listen to liveatc on my phone there and back and I think it may have helped. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

    Our new normal :(

They did but they said it took 14 min for them to get there. A kamikaze pilot could make it in that time. Maybe we need bigger TFR's. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

    Monitoring 121.5

I listen all the time now. There has been a few times I've been putting along on flight following and after a long silence I hear something like "N1234. Center is looking for you on frequency ###.##". Switch over and I'm back in the system. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

How mush time did you get this weekend???

I got 3.4 hrs family time. Took the wife and daughter skiing for the weekend. My favorite part was when we got back to the airport and my 4 yo says "look Daddy! Santa's flying.". What?? She points to the wall and says "See? Santa!". Lol Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

    'Where you flying' thread

I was supposed to fly up to Boyne, MI to a ski trip last Monday. Messed up my ankle pretty bad so decided to point the nose somewhere warm and head to Myrtle Beach instead. This weekend I'm taking the family up to Wausau, WI so they can get at least one weekend of skiing in. Doc says I'm...

IFR approach currency and what are requirements for the approach

It's pretty clear in mine (I hope). I'll put a VMC practice approach in the notes section with all the other irrelevant to currency info instead of the approach column. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

IFR approach currency and what are requirements for the approach

Probably the same reason we continue to log any hours that don't apply to a certification or currency. None of it's required. My log book proves I've met the PPL and IR requirements, shows I received my HP and complex endorsements and even shows that I went to visit my Dad on Christmas, flew...
