Should you lean slightly when taxiing?

My 0-235 will foul plugs like no tomorrow unless leaned on the ground. I yank the mixture out probably 3/4 of the way while farting around on the ground, no fouling issues since... I got some before pics of my plugs that are fouled, I'll see if I can find and post them later. Be amazed at how...

    Unsettled Feeling up High

Depends on the plane for me... In my buddies Stinson, no problem even though his doors scare the crap (they seem to barely latch on when closed) out of me! But flying in my 750 STOL I've caught myself being startled when I can look out the bubble doors and see straight down... I often...

    Daily Pic

Thanks, Pace was OK, this kit could easily be done in a year, but I took time off when I got sick of building. I went a bit nuts on the panel too so that took a few more months to wire up as well. Damn things like the job, wife and kid always seemed to get in the way of quality build time... :D

    Daily Pic

Love this thread!!! I can finally contribute. Here is the view from my Zenith CH750 STOL that I finally started flying this summer after 3.5 years of building! Don't think there is much out there that gives a view like this! :D Lovin' my STOL!!!!

    eBay Airplanes

Got the engine for my homebuilt there! Great deal, no issues (so far), but it was a reputable dealer that does nothing but aviation. He had great feedback. Engine (Lycoming) runs like a top! :D

    New Zenith

Mine is an edition 2, windows should be thicker. I also beefed up the frame so it flexes less on the door AND added a third latch halfway up the front. Lots of the problems were also caused by the bubble door acting like an airfoil and pulling on the door. If the bottom latches weren't...

Best stakes to tie down on grass?

I bought a set of those "portable shelter" screw downs. You get 6 for $50 and they are 36" long. They've held up so far really well until my hangar gets built.

"New" Pilot after being gone 15 years

AirNav Pro is the cat's meow if all you are doing is VFR. Foreflight too expensive for a simple flyer like me! I have a 6 month demo of Garmin going now too, it's pretty decent and I'm sure will get better. Cheaper than foreflight too...

PIREP: Armorglas - Finally an Ipad Glare Protector that Works!

Nope, not yet. I have the armor glass, works great. My plane is nothing but a glass bubble so tons of light and the iPad easy to read in direct light now BUT if it sits in the sun for more than 15 minutes it shuts off due to heat! :( Thinking of having a fan or something blowing on it, but that...

    Diabetes

Can be reversed, I'm living proof. Ate like a pig, was always in shape then I stopped working out in my 30's. Ate tons of pasta and bread. I was pushing 250 lbs, got my annual check up, BANG diabetic!!!! :( A1c over 7!!! :( :( That woke me up, especially since I was building an airplane...
