I actually took it all the way down to the ground on my PPL checkride. DPE pulled the power, I did all my stuff and headed to the grass strip. It was actually a good exercise and confidence builder for me.

I noticed that the Duke was tossed out quickly and most have seem to agree. What driving that? I don't know much about them.

I'd love a turbine-powered option (single or twin), but that's out of my price range...maybe down the road. Didn't realize that the 58P was a retrofit. Makes sense now. I see why those More knowledgeable than me are steering toward the Cessna.

This is a really interesting thread. The idea of a twin has crept into my head over the last few months. I live in Texas and keep a small place in Steamboat. I'd love a plane that will safely taken my family of 5 (kids age 13,11 & 10) from one place to the other. It would make long weekends...

Flew Primary since it was my first contest. It went well once I found the box. Man, that thing is tiny! Definitely add one more sucker to the fold. Now to practice the Sportsman maneuvers.

Had it happen once in a Bonanza. The only bad part is that I had a first time flyer (at least in a GA plane) with me. Once he realized he wasn't going to die, it wasn't bad. He kept commenting about how I kept my cool. He didn't realize that I knew what he didn't...it's not a big deal. Guess...

Does it have an AOA indicator? I heard all aircraft in Maui do.

How were the vertical rolls in the Great Lakes? What was your entry speed and were you able to make a full roll and still get over the top?

I had to cancel one on Friday for similar reasons. It was a BE-33. From what I've seen, most of the pilots are in piston singles.

What if he lessened the G's and allowed the plane to descend? How much altitude would he have to give up to get the accelerated stall speed within a reasonable range?

Im looking to load up the J3 and fly a friend to Lexington to eat at Snow's. For those of you that have done it, any recommendations on logistics? Doesn't look like there's a close public airport and I'm not certain about ground transportation. Any advice would be appreciated.
