what airports lie about delays to get more expansion?

I think this is a great question (re: fibbing, or rather flat-out lying). I am sure many airports 'enhance' operations numbers between breaths while sucking the FAA funding teet. The real question should be why are cities endlessly agreeing to tax abatement packages to appease these big...

And that's why you don't mindlessly update your iPad/iPhone

Still using a plain-ole iPhone 5 every day (100% remote wage slave). It doesn't seem slow at all. This article is specious...

    Finally comfortable with 9.5gph...

It took years but cruising at 9.5gph is finally a-okay. Used to be I'd thrift along at 8gph and a miserly 105kts but those days are behind me. I'm not a self-proclaimed cheapskate by any stretch but... YGPHMV

    Equifax Breach

It is becoming glaringly obvious that credit protection should be free and required by federal law due to the credit whores called corporations that simply cannot store safely all the data we willingly give them.

    Equifax Breach

Thank you for posting this. The Equifax system for dealing with this is slightly comical: how can we expect them to help us monitor our credit when they were just the victim of data theft? Just being Mr Obvious over here...

    Is Texas GA friendly?

Moving to Reno for a cooler climate!? Holy crap!

TN. to WA. epmty GA. ramps.

This is a lonely hobby unless you make a serious effort to connect with people. UNFORTUNATELY you can't really ask people if they'd like to go flying with you - you have to wait for them to ask you. Aside from that though you must must make the effort: join every club and definitely fly to every...

    Hobby Flying

    >> No- I've not even started training yet. I've been up with several other GA pilots over the years, and been on one Discovery flight. About to take another one a week from Saturday. Sailing is WAY more social. And much easier to get the family into. Richard Bach and his books sum up flying...

    Hobby Flying

So you don't have your PPL yet? Have you solo'ed? I haven't read the other posts. Apparently you need to do this; who cares about the logic of any of it. That said, the smartest thing I've ever done in my life is a) have kids and b) buy my plane. The wife has never flown with me; the 7-year...

    Restaurant stop in Illinois

Mattoon is an absolute must-visit. Not the most exciting part of the nation geologically speaking, but the restaurant is fantabulous. I've been to Bloomington IL too which was great. Been a few years so I don't know if it's still in biz but hopefully.

Question to all pilots, cabin crew and anyone else who flies regularly

I hate turbulence and I own a plane. It's not so much a roller coaster - more like getting slammed by the hand of god in random directions. Bang (up), Boom (left), Konk (down), etc. On the way home from SC as a newly minted pilot (~90 hours) I hit "moderate turbulence". It scared me silly...

I quit AOPA this past Friday and here's why

Well written post although I think AOPA is doing a good job. For some bizarre reason pilots just love to hate AOPA. Not sure if they are aircraft owners or renters or what. Must be a guy thing or some bizarre side-effect of being anal... Sometimes some articles come across incorrectly. To...

My father-in-law flipped out at me for taking my wife up during an Airmet Tango

Flying to Nantucket is a no-win situation according to everything I read. Removing from bucket list (bummer...) I am told by one international-level commercial pilot that little GA pilots often are better at flying than the big-iron PhDs.

    Debonair

Can't remember where I saw it, but AOPA said they spent $300k refurbishing that Deb. CRAZY!
