    Home Security Suggestions

Avoid the ADT systems, they are overpriced monthly dues for the same service you will get from your local security shop. You pay more up front for a lower monthly contract and a shorter contract from the little guys. Saves you HUNDREDS over the course of the contract.

How to get my students to stop taxiing with the yoke?#?!?

I'm trying to encourage people to fly and stick with it. I want them to have a mostly positive experience with aviation. I reserve yelling for the students who argue with me about what I'm telling them to do and how I'm wrong. Only had to do that once so far, sorry but if you want to blame me...

How to get my students to stop taxiing with the yoke?#?!?

Jesse, I've been doing it both ways as well and it doesn't seem to matter, they either get it or they need more help. I'll try having them sit on their hands or hold the dash and maybe spend some time taxiing as others suggested.

How to get my students to stop taxiing with the yoke?#?!?

This works, high-wing to high-wing, but if it is low wing to high wing the wings would not touch anyhow. I teach this as a tool, not as the rule.

How to get my students to stop taxiing with the yoke?#?!?

I just started telling them I was going to buy a tazer and start electro shock therapy on them :-). I am enjoying being an instructor! !!

How to get my students to stop taxiing with the yoke?#?!?

10+ hours, BTW, your user name threw me off for a second, I'm based near KDSM. Seems like they are fine hands off then the minute they get their hands back on they start steering.

How to get my students to stop taxiing with the yoke?#?!?

I have several students who are having a very hard time not steering the airplane on the ground with the yoke. I'm trying to instill wind correction on the ground, but it seems to quickly turn into them steering the plane around. Thoughts???

    Best aviator glasses under $100

Reporting back in, I didn't like the bayonet style frames on the original pilot glasses. I also found the glasses to be heavy and uncomfortable. I returned them and am continuing my search.

Maverick needs a new loving Home

Already looked, they don't allow pets for adoption posted on their page. I will use them for transport if needed. I've flown a few pets for them in the past.

Maverick needs a new loving Home

I'm sure this is "technically" the wrong subforum but i figured he isn't really to be posted in Classified since he isn't "technically" aviation related. :-) I've taken a full time job as a Flight Instructor at my local Airport, and i have kept my other full time job in sales to help pay the...

    Best aviator glasses under $100

I have the opposite problem, the cheap ones dissappear in a few days or break apart. The expensive ones seem to last me a few years. I ordered a pair of the American optics original pilot, glasses from amazon. They should be here next week and I'll report back. I went with black frame, true...

    Best aviator glasses under $100

I doubt the polarized lens has much to do with your improved vision, it is likely because you have a high quality pair of glasses. The polarization does not improve vision as much as reduce glare. The following is from an faa publication about sunglasses...

    Best aviator glasses under $100

Thanks tom, I'm looking for something a little higher quality than that. I learned a few years ago that a really good pair of glasses is worth the price difference. They will last longer, and you can see much better with them on than with a cheap set. Also, you should not fly with polarized...

    Best aviator glasses under $100

I tried a pair of raybans from Costco @$100. I didn't like them, the lens is too flat and you see the reflection of your face and eyes in the lens. I want good clean optics and don't need prescription. I want a thin wire ear/ side frame so they fit on my headset well, and of course...

Trade my David Clark h10-13s for a set of in-ear.

I have a student looking at h10-13s new, asked how much I wanted for mine. I was thinking of $200, since he is local and can try them first and is already interested.

Trade my David Clark h10-13s for a set of in-ear.

Hoping someone has a set maybe they didn't care for and would like to trade for a set of on-ear. I use a lightspeed sierra as my primary, this is my secondary.

    Android vs ipad

:-) I love your "non-opinionated" facts here. I've had android for my phone since t-mobile launched the g-phone. I agree 100% it comes down to hardware for android os reliability and performance. Unfortunately for flying and other things it also comes down to what apps are available. As the...
