son going in for adhd evaluation; wants to be a pilot

he can still be a pilot, he will just have to be off the meds for the rest of his life once he decides to do that, and then wait a year to be off the meds before seeing a FAA approved psych, then pay over a grand to do a bunch of stupid tests like memorizing 7 numbers backwards to prove you he...

    Area 51 question

its not so much anything on Area 51, its more about a specific question concerning ATC. I thought even in VFR flight following if ATC gives you an order you have to follow it, unless you have to deviate via emergency etc etc. I always thought that as soon as you commence any type of...

    Area 51 question

I remember seeing a youtube video of a pilot flying close to the restricted airspace overlying Area 51, flying high enough to see the Area 51 installation. I think the pilot did it for tours with friends or the general public. However he was in contact with ATC and even-though he wasn't busting...

    Tall Pilots

Im around 6'3 and left handed..... even the c152 are not that bad to fly in, its more of being squeezed in on the sides that s*ck. I've never really had a problem with being tall and left handed, however I havnt flown from the right side yet, which is coming up and im dreading that.

    FIA written test question

Where can I find the information concerning multi engine questions on the FIA written? If your only doing the CFI initial written, im assuming there wont be multi engine questions? or does the FAA want you to know certain multi engine questions even though your not going for the MEI?

If you left your 747's in Malaysia, They would like you to please pick them up.

a lot of guys do this in the UAE when it comes to dumping their super cars, some ferrari enzo or rare jag dumped in an airport parking lot or side of the road. This is on a whole other level though. I wonder if the government will pay out the people who have interests in these aircraft?

    CFI lesson plan question

It is but the layout consists of weather forecasts/reports/charts and not about the different types of weather phenomenon. That is why there needs to be another lesson plan on weather theory.

Is virtually learning on a Cessna 172 then for real on a 152 a bad idea?

Its not so much the difference between the 2. Like what was said above, the problem lies with building bad habits from the start. Honestly the only time I would use a simulator would be for instrument type training or just cockpit situation reference.

    CFI lesson plan question

Ok cool, yeah I might as well make the lesson plans that fill in the gaps. Its going to be hard teaching these lesson plans at first because some of the plans are more than 10 pages long worth of content. Ive noticed most professional plans are very short, and then you have some guys where the...

    CFI lesson plan question

Hey guys! I just finished up my CFI lesson plans, they're based off each task in the required PTS, but it seems like I might be missing a few lesson plans that might need to be put in that are not in the PTS. It looks like I might have to do a lesson plan on weather theory and aerodynamics...

Student Pilot - Video of Long Cross Country to Santa Barbara

I've only done it once a few years back, so I would check with a CFI over it. But you basically go down the coast to the edge of point loma (light house), while your basically a few hundred above the water, also you have to ask for a transition right past la jolla because of the bravo (call up...

CFI lesson plans, make your own or buy pre-made?

Thanks for the advice everyone. What I've decided is to make them myself. I have ordered the BSP lesson plans as an outline in case I get lost or cant find the information. I'm doing the 39 or so plans based on each CFI pts task. I go to a part 141 school that has their own syllabus, but I have...

Student Pilot - Video of Long Cross Country to Santa Barbara

Nice video, always great to build student skills in that LA area, Im working on my CFI and I still get nervous thinking about going into that area. You should fly into KCRQ - Palomar if you havnt already. Also go down to SD , that whole coastal > harbor > SAN transition is a fun route to do.

CFI lesson plans, make your own or buy pre-made?

I'm starting my CFI training soon :mad2:. Is it better to spend close to 4 months making your own lesson plans, or buy pre-made lesson plans (backseatpilot) and modify them to your liking? Also if I do buy pre-made lesson plans, how long does it normally take to modify them? weeks? months...
