    KCVG Bravo

I don't know if its coincidental or not but every time I fly over KCVG, the airport looks dead to me. But it might be just me.

    609 Certification

I just took a class this morning for 609. The certification is required for my job I had to take a fairly-easy 30 question multiple choice test afterwards. It was very basic and straight forward. Who else has theirs?

    Clearance Delivery VFR

Because of all of the controversy with this thread, I decided to consult with a couple of emergency medical (helicopter) pilots who fly in and out of my local airport. What I understand from them is that you really shouldn't use clearance delivery for VFR, because it's intended for IFR...

    Clearance Delivery VFR

Right. It just seemed logical and courteous to me to contact CD before departure so that I could have my transponder set, flight plan open, etc.

    Clearance Delivery VFR

So lets say you are departing an airport with class E airspace, right outside the perimeter of a class B airspace with intentions to obtain a VFR flight following through the class B after departure. Would it be alright to go ahead and contact Clearance Delivery before departing the class E?

    Texas American Flight Academy

I personally wouldn't want to obtain my instrument rating in 10 days. Yes, it's convenient, and yes its fast, but there is such a thing as information overload. When you rush through something you'll find yourself forgetting information which will force you to study more and thus resulting in...

I didn't get to fly IFR but VFR was even better

Today I took a cross country down to London-Corbin Airport in London Kentucky (LOZ). I had originally planned to fly an IFR cross country up to LUK, but because of the high likelihood of ice up northerly, I decided to cancel.:mad2: My instructor insisted I fly a VFR cross country away from...
