I would recommend starting out on a SE to learn the basics of handling a aircraft before moving over to the twin. SE are more forgiving then a ME. Plus insurance will be higher for him. The costs of maintaining a ME over SE will at least be doubled. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

You only need the stratus for the SV, but if you have a standalone GPS unit or a 3G/4G IPAD, you will be good to go for all the features except SV.

I used the sportys programs and it was great. Just put in the extra effort to come prepare for each lesson. I also took the time to study the sectional chart early on in my training even before I started. I didn't have to pay for any ground because of that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
