1800 x 100 Ft Grass runway carrying 4 people 200 lbs What plane would you use?

180 hp does wonders for the ol' 170. With the original 145 hp even tho' it had 4 seats you had to explain to the fourth guy why he couldn't go.

1800 x 100 Ft Grass runway carrying 4 people 200 lbs What plane would you use?

180 hp Cessna 170B. I've been flying one off 1500'x100' for more than 20 years. Aim for the end of the runway and over the fence at 60 mph or so. 30 degrees of flaps. Don't be afraid to dump the flaps and apply the brakes on rollout.

    VFR over a broken layer

If someone flying on an IFR clearance pops out of the cloud and collides with you the legalities won't matter much.

    VFR over a broken layer

Many a pilot has come to grief by depending on "George" to do what they didn't have the skill to do themselves.

    VFR over a broken layer

Yes, there's a reason those nice inviting holes in the broken layer are called "sucker holes", as the clouds build they tend to close up and leave you stuck on top. A minor inconvenience if you're instrument rated and equipped, if not .... you'll learn what the raccoon feels like when he takes...

Passed my stage check. Nerves settling in for solo. Thoughts?

The base to final spin developes from a skidding turn caused when the pilot is afraid to apply enuf' bank to keep the turn coordinated so instead he "rudders" it around. At this stage if a steep enuf' turn is required to need a steeper bank than you're comfortable with just go-around and next...

    Handheld Radio Inflight

In my experience you'll need to connect to an external antenna plus a headset adapter is pretty near essential.

Flying below the glide slope as a tactic

Your glideslope antenna is aiming for the 1000' markers. On a large airplane that could put the landing gear on the runway considerably before that.

    Checklists, Do-lists, and Flows

"Aeronautics" is a pretty big word? When I learned it back in '66 "A" stood for "Air", IOW which way is the wind blowing? A lot of trainers back then didn't even have flaps and trim was so easily overcome that it wasn't all that critical.

Flying below the glide slope as a tactic

All it'd do is put you farther from the runway at DH.

Checkride: Will you know what the approaches are beforehand?

The expected approach is NOT part of the flight plan. That said, instrument approach design is all based on a few variations of the same thing. The numbers are just different, if you've flown approaches of the various designs you should be able to fly any of 'em.

    Continental Control Area....please explain.

You've got it essentially right. The Continental control area begins where the class G uncontrolled airspace ends at 14,500' and the "control" is basically the same as class E airspace in that you must either adhere to VFR cloud clearances or operate on an IFR clearance. And no, you don't need...

Using tablet to see the mountains?

The mountains are full of wreckages of VFR pilots who didn't seem to understand the simple fact that if you're gonna' fly over a mountain you gotta' get higher than the mountain.
