    Cherokee to 172 transition?

I trained on DA20's, then transitioned to PA28-161's then to a 172SP. I found the 172SP supremely docile compared to the DA20 (obviously) and more comfortable to fly than the PA28-161, primarily because of front visibility and ease of entry/exit. In terms of how to fly it, it didn't sink...

Multiple Nav / GPS Failures...Lesson Learned

I use the iPad with Garmin Pilot in flight. I learned -- especially with the DA20 -- to point the vent at the back of the iPad during flight when possible. The only way to "cool" an iPad is to radiate heat from the metal portion on the rear. Also typically I'll use iPad, GNS430 and a backup...

Flying with a four month old tomorrow.

The flight school has boosters for the DA20's (for short students), and it has a four point safety harness so he should be fine. The Piper is a three point and since it isn't a stick you can buy good boosters on Sportys.

Question : How do you prepare your VFR flights ?

I'm flying out of Southern California (KVNY) so as of right now, the NOAA reports have confirmed: we have no weather. That being said I usually watch the METAR's and TAF's the day before the flight, and the trending of the wind movements through the previous day, just to get a sense of what...

Anyone in the Los Angeles area?

Let me know if you find a Cirrus partnership. I fly out of KVNY as well. I love it to bits.
