If you are to buy an aircraft

If it's a Cessna 140, I'd save up for outright purchase. Anything else mentioned (didn't say new vs. antique :D )would be so far out of reach as to be a purely academic exercise to me. But I picked loan/purchase anyway.

    Where is that pilot shortage?

The pilot shortage is, and always has been, in the big flight schools. It's student pilots that are always in short supply.

Yeah, see if their lawn equipment has blue stains all over them.

So far, so good. The only incompatible 3rd party add-on I miss told me they'd have a FF3 compatible version ready "within a couple hours."

Cirrus accidents - the high cost of flying?

Great analysis, Ron, and it's good to see you here on POA. I've enjoyed your Fly Baby site for years!

Plane prices; The sky is falling.....

What are the implications for those who took out airplane loans collateralized on increasing hull values? Similar to the housing market?

Cirrus accidents - the high cost of flying?

The FAA database lists 3,404 Cirrus aircraft registered in the US and 1,068 Diamond singles. Two modern aircraft, different missions, maybe different demographic of pilot. How many of each has crashed? I don't see what makes the Cirrus a bonehead-magnet. If I had more money than sense, I'd...

He looks like the real deal. We've given him a baptism of fire here on POA, with our sarcasm and hazing. J. Henry, where do you want to photograph? (gotta admit I was put off by the message Warning - visiting this web site may harm your computer! when I visited jhenryfair.com)

    In Need of Pilots!

This isn't a subsidiary of Silver State Helicopters, is it? Hanging out at any local airport should produce more pilot candidates than one could ever want.

    Beech Skipper: Review

Strange choice for a drug running plane (I assume that's what you mean). Almost no useful load. Not that flying over gross would matter to the operator. I did most of my Private in a Tomahawk, and didn't get to see a Skipper close up until much later. They're both better airplanes than most...
