Hmm. That’s not a turbo Lance.

    Idiopathic/Old Dog Vestibular Syndrome

I had this happen to my yellow lab a year or 2 ago. I noticed him just standing still and looking down, not really wanting to move. He walked slowly and clumsily. And he refused to go down any stairs. We let it ride over the weekend and he was 100% better by Monday. Interestingly enough, I...

Current density altitude is 7500’. Can’t help but wonder if it’s a contributing factor.

    Garmin problems today?

These types of ransomware attacks are less about the personal data and more about interrupting Garmin’s ability to do business. If they cannot recover quickly enough it’s possible some c-Suite person will look at the numbers, revenue loss vs ransom, and just say pay it. At least that’s what the...

    Six Seat Single?

In the spirit of suggesting the airplane you own, I think a Lance fits here. We use our Lance for 4 adults + 2 kids and baggage. This last trip we even added the dog. I do think that getting a ride in some examples mentioned above may provide some clarity. Be sure to bring the wife along...

I frequent Lake Almanor. There’s a runway right on the lake. Not sure what the current status for rentals is, but worth a look.

Landing fees proposed for KTOA (Torrance Airport, CA)

And I sent this email: It has come to my attention that the City Council intends to vote on a new budget that includes the addition of landing fees for Generation Aviation aircraft at the Torrence/Zamperini Field Airport. I am a California resident and a pilot owner operator. I would recommend...

Landing fees proposed for KTOA (Torrance Airport, CA)

I looked at the agenda for the meeting and don’t see the topic? https://www.torranceca.gov/Home/ShowDocument?id=59561 Edit: I reread op. Sounds like it’s buried in the budget.

Commuting from Tacoma, WA to San Jose, CA

For affordability the Lance is hard to beat. But your dispatch rate is going to suffer. If you’re fine with taking your plane when weather is good and commercial when it’s crappy, the Lance makes sense. Don’t underestimate insurance costs when factoring your monthly costs. Getting a big twin...

    Home Simulator

Your right. I was trying to gauge expectations for the simulator. I’m actually putting together a home simulator now, even using an older computer XPlane 11 does ok on medium settings. It’s great for IFR related work where most of the stuff to learn is procedural.

    Flight training halted?

Good satire. But I do believe these sites are being irresponsible by burying the statement in their About section. About This site was founded by veteran pilots who saw two major trends on a collision course. On one hand, the founders saw that what we called “websites” were in fact becoming...

Coronavirus hysteria is hurting every one.

Certainly we are not going to stop the spread of the virus entirely. The goal is the flatten the curve (# of people infected) as to not overwhelm the healthcare system. The total number of people infected at the end might still be the same, but if we’ve distributed them across a longer time...
