    Post aircraft pictures you took

Two of my favorites, fancied up a bit and both hanging as “paintings” in our hangar home:

Alec Baldwin shoots and kills cinematographer.

Maybe a bit pedantic, but no one is ever “found innocent”. The verdict is “not guilty”, which means the state did not meet the burden of “proof beyond a reasonable doubt”. Which does not mean the person is innocent of committing the crime.

    Icon Spirals In

I’ll yield to your obvious yacht expertise. But a 26’ anything is not what I’m referring to when I say yacht, “certified” or not.

    Icon Spirals In

I take it you haven’t priced yachts recently. The LSA reality is that folks clamored for really basic, cheap LSA’S. I think that was the original vision for Light Sport. But when it’s time to buy, the same folks tend to opt for multiple glass screens and autopilots and virtually every bell and...

Total Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024

We made it to our campground in Killeen, TX yesterday afternoon. Would not mind touching base with any peeps that might be in the area.

Do you plan on flying (or traveling in general) to see the eclipse on April 8th?

On the road again… Night number 1 at a distillery in Jackson, TN. Hic! Big storms blowing through overnight and tomorrow as we head west towards Washington, Arkansas. Wish us luck.

    [NA] Toyota Tundras

I have a friend who was “given” a Nissan Titan on indefinite loan and it seems like a very nice truck. Never owned a Nissan. Logical or not, I have a certain “brand loyalty” to Toyota. I place Toyota, Honda and Nissan - along with their “luxury” nameplates - in my “top tier” for reliability...

Can you jump a 12V plane battery with a car?

Good advice. Once I was jump starting my Sky Arrow from my Honda Element. Did not use my Engine Start checklist (rare for me), so I did not remember to set the parking brake. On engine start, plane started rolling forward. Reflexively pushing on the toe brakes did nothing - my plane doesn't...

Can you jump a 12V plane battery with a car?

Did that once with my Cirrus. Not recommended but it did get us going.

    Wheel Balancing

That’s too bad. Googling “portable motorcycle wheel balancers” did come up with several similar items, however.

    [NA] Toyota Tundras

I was initially looking for a 2022 or newer for under about $40k. That turns out to be a rare bird. Those close to that seem to be base models - SR and SR5 - and those don’t come with the iForce hybrid option. To my understanding, the primary advantage to the hybrid is increased performance -...

A challenge for Half Fast - find me a day with no national holidays

That reminds me of the fruitless search for the first number that has nothing special about it. Why? It would be special for being the first number having nothing special about it!

    Wheel Balancing

I use a simple little device called a Beemer Balancer, for motorcycle wheels. Here’s a video. You can see the amount of weight it took to get one of my little Sky Arrow 5” mains to balance:

    [NA] Toyota Tundras

One of the upscale Tundra models is the “1794 Limited Edition”. I asked ChatGPT what that might be about: “The Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition is named after the ranch where the Tundra plant is located in San Antonio, Texas. The ranch, established in 1794, serves as the inspiration for the name of...

    [NA] Toyota Tundras

It’s taken very little to make this truck “our own”. 1) Getting it ready to tow required getting a longer shank for our w/d hitch so the trailer could ride level. 2) It’s a long step up into even a stock Tundra. Especially for Karen. I bought these on Amazon for roughly 1/3 the cost of the...

    [NA] Toyota Tundras

I can certainly see why you’re disillusioned with Tundras. You had an inexcusably bad experIence. We’ve only had ours for a few months and a few thousand miles. No problems at all so far, but too soon to come to any conclusions. Ours had 48k miles on it when we bought it, and it seems like it...

    Tesla Pickup Unveil

Before buying our aluminum CampLite, we had joined an Airstream forum and were considering one. Lots of complaints about declining quality, filiform corrosion on brand new trailers due to the inferior aluminum now used, and general QC issues. Still iconic, but this Google image search made up...

Cool! But no way they can sell them for that. Look what Winnebago Class C’s are going for: Albeit a motor home and not a trailer, but still…
