    annoyed with flight school

If you stick with this, you'll learn to blame yourself, not the aircraft, weather, ATC, FBO, instructor or whatever. The plane eventually landed, so it's a matter of some detective work to figure out how to land it well.

Step up to G1000 or Retrofit? Another question.

The gfc-700 autopilot with the G1000 is a total game changer, especially for single pilot operations. Waas and synthetic vision is icing on the cake. They system is amazingly well integrated. I don't think there's any way to retrofit economically.

    For $350k---Cessna 206 or Cirrus 22?

    Ok, but an f350 (206) versus an f150 (PA32).

    Who do they belong to?

Money and age are two separate factors. Emotions are a third. Ever have to stop an elder relative from driving? Ever scare yourself really badly? Ever think about the day you get bad news from the doctor? What happens if you get fired over 50 years old? I ran into a guy as he was...

45th Cirrus CAPS (Parachute) activation in Aus and the best footage caught to date.

Re: 45th Cirrus CAPS (Parachute) activation in Aus and the best footage caught to dat You're absolutely right and making more sense than anyone. When I was in flight school, they briefed us on a turkey vulture strike that knocked the student unconscious who then slumped against the stick...

    For $350k---Cessna 206 or Cirrus 22?

Toga. The 206 flies like a truck - it's not like a 172. The Cirrus is going to be too small.

Register plane in my name or business?

Further, if the plane is fully depreciated, any sale is considered capital gains unless rolled into a like-purchase. I still think it was well worth taking the full depreciation in one year (a program which ended last year). I was able to reduce my taxes by an amount equal to three years...

what do you keep in your hangar?

A little dramatic - a Hoyo de Monterey Epicure no. 1 works fine fine. I dip it in until I hear the quenching noise.

Landing on runways with a road before the threshold....

I wouldn't worry about the cars, if you can conquer the float, you'll feel better about coming in a little steeper. I never had a problem with a 172, but I float the Columbia 400 if I'm not right on the numbers. I will move the flaps from landing to takeoff position as I flare if I'm a little...

Register plane in my name or business?

If you form an llc owned by the s corp, you can have the llc buy the aircraft, then you have to pay the llc for your personal use of the plane. Personal use includes training. I was advised to not put anything related to planes or aviation in the llc name, but planes are an audit magnet...

I'd try some dry ice in a slurry if ice and water rather than handle antifreeze.
