Kobe Bryant dead in helicopter crash

Sounds like scud running - special VFR around VNY, then lost contact. https://forums.liveatc.net/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=15767.0;attach=10604 switched from VNY twr to SoCal right before end of recording. So Cal tells him he's too low for flight following...then unanswered calls..

Lax jet dumps fuel on school.

Incident is on liveatc archive. 777 (i think) compressor stall after TO from LAX, and return (emergency). ATC asks the guy if he needs to dump fuel early in the incident, he says "no". Apparently, perhaps later after having time to run calcs and run checklists, decided to dump after...

Is General Aviation Dying in the USA?

You should come right out and say what you want, don't worry about all the naysayers out there, (unless you don't want to, and who could blame you if you didn't?)

    Cleaning connections (Century III)

Hi all. In browsing thru the boards over the months, I recall seeing people having intermittent trouble with autopilots, and the standard advice seemed to be "make sure you clean all of the connections", as this can be the source of a lot of minor errors and intermittent issues. So, what does...

    Manual E6B

I have two from flight training back in the 70's. I have been out of flying for a about 30 years and just getting back into it.

    Manual E6B

I've been looking online for any kind of manual that explains how to use this thing. I found a very old AIM (1970's vintage) that discussed the slide rule side and gave some example problems and solutions, but I can't seem to find anything more current or anything with the "wind face" solutions...
