Plane Down in Davidson County, NC

This is directly from one of the Greensboro media outlets: "Troopers identified the pilot as Raymond John Ackley, 43, of Charlotte. The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 41-year-old Concord man, is in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, trooper say."

Plane Down in Davidson County, NC

I can't validate this information personally, but according to a local media outlet, the pilot was from Charlotte, and was repositioning the aircraft to South Carolina. It had been at KEXX, "for an extended amount of time."

    Steak Sauce

I'm with @cowman and @eman1200 on this one . . . a properly cooked cut of meat will hold its own with me. E, the only meat you should put ketchup on is an all-beef hot dog, or a hamburger. Glad you outgrew that phase! [emoji16]

All good points. Thanks for the input.

    Flight school names

Nosir, I wasn't aware, but we'd already passed on that option.

    Flight school names

Yessir, that was said tongue-in-cheek, but sarcasm doesn't carry well in the written word. Like was mentioned previously, "rising from ashes" is probably not a good inference for a flight school. [emoji16]

Thanks Stan. My wife's suggestion was, "Blue Skies Flight School." How ironic . . .

    Flight school names

I think he wants to use the name for marketing purposes, but the existing name hasn't been marketed, so that's not a factor. He wants a new name with his new start, not for any other reason.

    Flight school names

Thanks. The thing is, the current owner has never marketed the business under the name itself. He just used the name for legal purposes, so retaining the existing name isn't really beneficial or detrimental.

    Flight school names

Thanks for the suggestion. I was just trying to stay away from a geographic name, but I'll pass the idea along to him.

    Flight school names

Understand the concern for Aviation in the name of a flight school, but if he should ever expand and decide to run charter flights himself, or do something beside teach students, he can do it without starting a whole new LLC . . . he may decide to go with "Flight School," we'll see.

    Flight school names

Well, his high school's mascot was Phoenix, so . . . Phoenix Aviation?

    @NealRomeoGolf thanks for the ideas.

    Flight school names

Thanks for the input. This isn't his primary source of income. He is just taking over a very small operation for a guy who has been doing it for a long time. I was just looking for ideas for a catchy name that keeps his name out of the LLC.
