Not sure about that... Many commonly used fire extinguishers are dry power. Not sure I want to try that in a closed environment. There is a reason aircraft typically have Halon extinguishers installed.

As far as I can tell the required visa for flight training is a hot potato that neither the state deportment nor the DHS wants to be responsible for... Is there a web page somewhere that could shine some light on what's actually required in practise?

I just whish the reports of laser incidents would start mentioning what power the misused laser pointer had. You can get anything from 1mW to several Watt these days. Not saying at shining any laser at an airplane is a good idea, but the health risk for flight crews is very different - ranging...

I would recommend KRLD. It has a nice FBO, and you don't have to worry about the security theatre that comes with having airlines at the field, like at KPSC. The last time I was at S98, the FBO had closed, and it looked quite deserted. (But that was a while ago - somebody should correct me if...
