These are valid points, though some of these are answered in the entirety of the article. I only posted an excerpt which doesn’t tell the whole story. But you are right in that even if you read the whole article, some questions do still remain.

Two more: This list looks at another aspect of airline safety--fatalities. From Plane Crash Info, airlines which have never had a fatal accident (before Southwest's first fatality). On this list, there are several foreign carriers, and five (5) Asian carriers: Air Berlin Air Europa AirTran...

As others have said, in America we can't sacrifice safety, but you're SOL if you care about customer service, or even just general non-safety training. I had to laugh at one FA who insisted that the EVERY seatback is a bulkhead, for example.
