    Name Change Olympics

My experience is that they're not really set up for any data changes. I've put my address change in a number of times, and requested multiple copies of my aircraft registration, and yet I still don't have my new aircraft registration at my new address.

    Name Change Olympics

Lord. This honestly reminds me of my quest to get the registration on my aircraft renewed. I think the FAA hates doing paperwork, which is ironic given the amount of paperwork they make all of us do.

    Skydiving Accidents at Lodi, California

My mother in law lives in Lodi, so I've flown into there once or twice to pick her up to take her on a flight. The airport runway is pretty rough, and the communication in the air is pretty bad. One time, I stated I was going to do a standard tear drop entry, and got told off and told to avoid...

    Moving to Michigan

You just listed several reasons I'm looking forward to moving out of the current place I'm in. I think after seeing the sky turn orange here, I'm so ready to go.

    Moving to Michigan

I'm into it! I'd love to swap tips and ideas and whatnot! I'm currently in hiatus from working on the instrument ticket due to Covid concerns. I was *considering* flying back to CA and finishing my instrument ticket with the instructor I was flying with, but I'd love to work with others too...

    Moving to Michigan

I'm legit excited. KARB is where I want to end up eventually, it's about 10 minutes west of my house-to-be, but given that I've been #25 on the waiting list for 6 months... it might be a little while until I can get a hangar there, and folks tell me I *need* one if I want to have a plane up...

    Moving to Michigan

I love snow! And seasons! Can't wait to actually experience *weather* again. Though I'm sure it will hamper my flying. I moved to San Jose, CA in early 2007 from Cleveland, OH. After 14 years here, I think I'm ready to go back to a place that feels like home. Even with all the frustrations...

    Moving to Michigan

I grew up in Cleveland, OH, so I'm used to something like Michigan weather, at least on the ground. Totally new to it in terms of aviation, though. Sounds like I really need to get the IFR ticket finished so I can actually fly during the summer. Yeesh! Y'all are making me wonder if moving...

    Moving to Michigan

I'm moving to Michigan at the end of the month. I'm building a house in Ypsilanti and have a temporary rental in Novi while we wait. Gonna be hangaring at Y47 while we wait for the house to be built, and at KYIP or KARB once the house is finished, and my turn comes up on the waiting list for a...

    PA32-300. Am I a Cherokee or a Saratoga?

Update: I'm calling up as a Saratoga to Hayward now. "Saratoga 7008F, inbound for landing" Somehow, this has *increased* the confusion, as they're now describing me as a Cessna to other traffic. As I was departing KHWD this Sunday, they called me a Cessna, a Piper, and one other aircraft...

    PA32-300. Am I a Cherokee or a Saratoga?

Oh yeah, I'm not about to take up airtime arguing with anyone.

    PA32-300. Am I a Cherokee or a Saratoga?

I am told there are some folks that fly there in a similar model that have some trouble with landing in 3100 feet.

    PA32-300. Am I a Cherokee or a Saratoga?

HAHA! I say if you pay for the whole runway, use the whole runway!:):):). (Though in this case, I was off at Delta)

    PA32-300. Am I a Cherokee or a Saratoga?

My first instructor on my bird has the same admonishment to me when I asked her how to call up. AND I've been flying it around 300 hours over the past two years with no complaints from ATC until yesterday. This confusion is why I generally just stick with "Piper 7008F" so I'm not calling it A...

    PA32-300. Am I a Cherokee or a Saratoga?

You can hear him complain around 28:45 in this live atc bit, just after I landed: https://archive-server.liveatc.net/khwd/KHWD-Jul-27-2020-0000Z.mp3 It's hard to hear what I said in response, but I basically said "7008F is a PA32-300, a Piper Cherokee Six"

    PA32-300. Am I a Cherokee or a Saratoga?

I've seen other Cherokee Six pilots calling their bird a Saratoga, so I suppose this makes sense. It's quite similar to a Saratoga.

    PA32-300. Am I a Cherokee or a Saratoga?

During uncontrolled ops, I often just call in as a "red and white Cherokee." I figure the other pilots can figure it out from there. :)

    PA32-300. Am I a Cherokee or a Saratoga?

To be clear, this isn't so much a question about what to file as, since I just file as a PA32-300... But rather what to say to tower or ground. In this case, I greeted tower with "Hayward Tower, Piper 7008F is over the freeway interchange at 3000 inbound for landing with Golf" and after I...

    PA32-300. Am I a Cherokee or a Saratoga?

Flew my 1976 PA-32-300 Piper Cherokee 6 into KHWD yesterday and had a new interaction with ATC in my 300 hours flying this thing over the past 2+ years. Normally, I call up as "Piper" 7008F, with no problem. When it matters, ATC has tended to ask, or if I'm doing flight following, I mention...
