Powertow 40 EZ, 3 mos old, Milwaukee

I'm currently at the other end, and can take pics when I get back to Wisconsin. With probably 30 minutes of runtime on it, it looks an awful lot like a brand new one.

Powertow 40 EZ, 3 mos old, Milwaukee

I've been maintaining hangers at both ends of my commute this summer, and I'll be consolidating down to one. I'd rather not move the Powertow since I already have one at at my home hanger. This is a 40 EZ, purchased directly from Northwest in August of this year. I have not emptied the first...

    What to buy, $50-60k?

I missed this forum, thought I would come back and report that I did find a plane. Slightly broke the budget though: 1987 Mooney 252 TSE Encore conversion. I've started IFR traning, since my cross countries are pretty limited with just a VFR rating.

Proud of myself for beating get-there-itis.

Good for you. There was a crash with 5 souls lost right near my home town, a couple months ago, in a situation similar to this. Guy tried to fly back home from a baseball game at night, into IMC. He was IFR rated, but not current, and lost his Cirrus on what we assume was a too-steep turn...

    What to buy, $50-60k?

Nice panel, and a great looking bird overall. It's a nice xc setup, I agree. But, it's a bit older than what I've been considering. I have not bought an airplane before, and especially with an older plane I'm concerned about a never-ending stream of maintenance issues. Or of serious metal...

    What to buy, $50-60k?

So i've got some good ideas. I wasn't that excited about 182s, but I'll keep a more open mind. Also, I didn't fully appreciate what a great plane the Comanche is, so I'll go get a look at a few. The Mooneys have always been on my short list, but I was stuck on a J which is out of budget, for...

    What to buy, $50-60k?

I already know I'd love a twin. Have thought that a combination of Mooney and a twin like a PA-39 or B55 Baron makes all the sense in the world. Great for economy commuting, great for taking 3 peeps and gear. Just not for a while.

    What to buy, $50-60k?

Simplicity appeals, given a limited holding period. I'm wary of getting something older, and having it soak up so much cash I can't move on to the next goal. I was on the verge of buying a Deb, and it was the age that gave me pause. Really helpful to hash this out here, btw. Thx to all...

    That's not bad. LOP?

    What to buy, $50-60k?

I have a place at the other end of the commute. Typical schedule is out Monday, 430nm, back on Thurs/Fri. As I mentioned, "conditions permitting". If conditions aren't right, I stay at one end or the other until they are. Or if I really need to get there, I've got a car at each end also...

    What to buy, $50-60k?

The Tigers are looking better all the time. Downside with those are the cooling issues, so I'd want a low-time or a runout engine that I could overhaul myself. Spent some time looking at C182s today. They fit the price/performance/load/range requirement, but they're not nearly as efficient...

    Piston Powered World Record

I love the statement: "Performance: The RP-4 is designed to be a high performance aircraft." Ya think?

    What to buy, $50-60k?

I have another thread asking which $40-50k planes would be easiest to get out of, assuming a 2-year holding period while I complete PPL and IFR training, and get a little flying in. That thread morphed quickly into a "what to buy" thread, but I had never revealed the full mission...

What single-engine plane is easiest to sell?

If I was absolutely certain I'd never have to sell it, I'd be very tempted. It's a lot of performance for the money. I'd just be sure to keep the termites away from it.

What single-engine plane is easiest to sell?

All, I appreciate the thoughts. I have requirements which I have not fully gone into here that make the renting situation untenable. I allowed this thread to deviate (as threads do) from the original purpose, which was simply to identify which planes sell the fastest. That's information...

What single-engine plane is easiest to sell?

That's the kind of info I'm looking for. What's selling, and what's not. Or what's taking 9 months, vs what's taking 3 months. (I think 3 months would be reasonable, to sell a plane.) Obviously that's a function of how you price it, but.... I wouldn't go buy a Baron (or a Duke or any light...

What single-engine plane is easiest to sell?

That's true, to a point. But surely the market is more liquid for some planes rather than others, given the same theoretical value-to-price ratio.

What single-engine plane is easiest to sell?

If I were going to buy a Viking, I'd go look at this one. Someone has put an awful lot of TLC into it: http://warrenaircraft.com/index.php?id=n28111

What single-engine plane is easiest to sell?

Now, there's a plane that will be easy to unload. They're beautiful planes though, with great numbers. Too bad the market won't touch them.
