    Most interesting Take-offs/Landings?

When giving rides in a Champ, always explain to your passengers that those little foot rests in front of the rudder pedals aren't actually foot rests

    Pet Peeves

Speaking of wearing pajamas. People who wear them anywhere other than their own homes annoy me. Especially on airline flights

    Most interesting Take-offs/Landings?

What's your stories. Shortest, narrowest, roughest, most interesting runways or whatever you land on? I've got nothing special, only one worth a pucker factor. A friend and I had flown to Stanton's barbeque in SC around July last year. We'd flown down in a Cessna 150. Getting in was no...

    Pet Peeves

Just discovered this thread and I only read a couple pages so here's a couple things that grind my gears. If they've been said already, then I'm just reiterating them. 1. Cars that pull out in front of you and either go 5mph under the speed limit, or turn a quarter mile down the road. (this...

    777 cockpit vs Airbus cockpit

I'm just playing devils advocate here but why should you have to look over to see what the other pilot is doing? I would think seeing the control inputs can be just as important as any instrument. So make it obvious by having them visible at least in your peripheral.

    777 cockpit vs Airbus cockpit

:hairraise:okay before you burn me at the stake here I'm not saying that it was the main contributing factor, but having independent controls couldn't help. Let me better explain myself by first asking a question. How can you tell what an Airbus is doing aerodynamically when you're flying if...

    777 cockpit vs Airbus cockpit

I can't help but think the accident could have been avoided if there was an obvious way to tell what the control inputs by the other pilot were. Part of the reason for there being two heads up front is so they can cross check each other. So why exclude control inputs from that?

    Most Awkward Moment?

    Getting walked in on..... :hairraise:

    777 cockpit vs Airbus cockpit

Do those pilots have anything to compare it to though? I mean have they flown any big plane other than an Airbus? :dunno: All the old timers I've talked to who have flown both ALWAYS prefer the Boeing or MDouglass. In the Airbus they all complain that they're just "systems operators"

    FLYING weight loss program

Just got the December issue. I've seen thicker pamphlets... I do think they have the best pictures though. That's gotta count for something

Forget something??? FEDEX late gear extension

Doesn't look normal to me. If they were flying by the checklist their gear should have been down by the FAF. In the video they extend the gear about 30seconds before crossing the threshold. Could've been a test flight
