What, legally, are "Known Icing Conditions"?

People drive while drunk and a lot of them don't have an accident and don't get caught.

What, legally, are "Known Icing Conditions"?

Everything thing I have read prohibits flight into "known icing conditions". That is not "known icing" but conditions which could lead to icing. You as PIC can certainly choose to ignore that regulation, or any other one for that matter, but you should not be suprised if you get bitten...

    Windows 8?

They are the ones that use the computers the most and for a wider variety of applications so they spending time learning the quirks for all of their applications every time Microsoft wants to market a new toy gets old very quickly.

    Bing

My only complaint with Google is that more and more searches are returning with other search engines which frequently don't find what I want. It would seem that these others a seeding the internet with any key word that will get them traffic whether or not they are relevent. I suspect Google to...

    Windows 8?

Locked down is a relative expression. Just try removing applications you don't want from a Verizon smart phone. Again I don't know weather the problem is Android, HTC, Verizon, or some combination of the three making me keep a list of worthless application many of which require service charges...

    Windows 8?

I wrote my code 10 years ago. The games I play are probably 10 years old. I am not interested in developing new interfaces for additional functionality I never had so I don't need to continue doing what I was doing. I just want my stuff to work the way it always has. Posting on other sites...

    Windows 8?

I play a number of video games and write my own software ("C"). I have been told I will have to set up a virtual machine and run another operating system. Why not just load Vista (what I am currently using) on any new machine and scrap Metro.

    Java????

On the other hand, I had a perfectly good Documents to Go on my Android but "allow automatic updates" was checked and since the last automatic update no longer reads documents created by Open Office on my PC. The response from Dataviz is to use Microsoft word instead.

    Cirrus without a chute...attractive plane?

Since the price of the Corvallis is so much higher than the Cirrus removing the chute must be very expensive.

    Cirrus Intros '5th Generation' SR20, SR22

5G for the SR20 is just a higher price with no other benefits. Still no TIS (the active traffic is a $22,000 15 lb. option).

a "can you log this" question

Unless something has changed, you have only a very limited number of FTD hours which can be used for an IFR rating. When I tried to use one for an IPC I was told that an IPC or currency requirements can only be met in a real plane.

Cirrus Bahamas CAP landing Oil Pressure?

On mine during the first 2 years I went through 7 autopilots, 2 alternators, 3 CAPS recalls, flap servo failure, aileron servo failure, vacume pump switch failure, starting problems, and various other problems. At the end of the 2 years the warranty ran out and I sold the plane. I put on most of...

    Cirrus v Crosswind

The autopilot holds a heading and if you apply rudder the autopilot will bank the plane to hold the heading. In a Cirrus the autopilot does not control the aileron directly. It banks by applying aileron trim.

    Cirrus v Crosswind

The Cirrus autopilot does it all the time.
