My Attempt at a $115 ADS-B Receiver Build for Foreflight

Re: Commercial flight question D'ont know if you have enough time but another approach might be to get with the security folks well before boarding time and show your system to them and tell them that it will simply feed data into your tablet or phone and answer their questions about it. I...

    iOS 9.1, any problems?

Haven't heard of any problems with Foreflight but IT person working in a Bank system advises that they are having significant problem with newest IOS and false triggering of user error alarms. I'm still holding off on using it w/ Foreflight because their general guidance is to do that until...

My Attempt at a $115 ADS-B Receiver Build for Foreflight

The Pi, the SDR and the RTL along with their ancilliary developments are an outstanding achievement. However, I wonder why no one has come up with an App to work on the iPad and eliminate the extra computer a La the approach which seems to have evolved for Android systems ?

My Attempt at a $115 ADS-B Receiver Build for Foreflight

Cgrab, was this due to your not having a transponder for ADS-B ? If you had lots of traffic there should have been some weather out there somewhere. Do you have a single dongle configuration?

    iPAD MOUNTS and ATP checkride

Agree w/ Catalo. I use a leg strap all of the time and find it totally adequate. For your check ride, you definitely need a backup if the examiner decides to kill your iPad, I recommend that you be prepared with a fully charged smartphone with adequate downloads for the area you're being...

LOC/DME Approach, Surprised to see glide slope

I believe the OP's question has been adequately addressed. The big question here seems to be why there is no FDC Notam re: the permanent closure of the OM ? Or is MAKG's input in that regard not correct ? If it is correct, why hasn't the FAA gotten around to the Notam ?
