Just a good day to fly

Beautiful flying WX here in Maine yesterday. I was going to get me some $100.00 pancakes but even at 10:00 am most of the airports were closed due to snow removal. :(

    Beech Musketeers

I've enjoyed the BE-19s, BE-23s and BE-24s I've flown. They aren't fast but they're extremely comftorable. They're also built like tanks. I've seen students bounce them off the runway pretty hard and the airplane just shruges it off. They can porpoise if you land flat. I've seen a few bounced...

    How far do you GO?

Due to rental costs I am stuck within 70nm or so unless someone else is footing the bill.

    One Aircraft

As much fun as I think Bonanzas are, I would probably go with a Grumman Tiger.

How to land an airplane if you are not a pilot

A poorly written article. Probably a 20 year old instructor who feels he is God's gift to aviation. edit: I apologize if I am wrong about the writer. It probably isn't fair for me to make assumptions...:nono:

Yeah, I was unimpressed when I saw the P-51 in the vote last year.

CT Pilots take note... It's back.....

I know of atleast one Falcon 900 owner who keeps the aircraft in Connecticut as opposed to Mass (where the crew lives) because it's cheaper. CT will lose business if this bill passes as people who live out of state will no longer have any reason to keep their aircraft there.

    First Handgun

I have good sized hands but my fingers aren't terribly wide, so it feels pretty good when I hold it. I'll definitely put rounds through mine before carrying (I won't be carring for a month or so I'm guessing by the time my paperwork gets processed I'm guessing). Plenty of time to get it...

    First Handgun

Sorry for the bump. I wanted to thank everyone for the information provided in here - on Sunday I purchased a Beretta Nano which I'll carry concealed. I'm taking the course this Thursday. Pocket holsters are made for it, but I think it's a bit too heavy for that, so I'm going to carry IWB...

    Survey

JL, I would modify your hour ranges on question #2. I earned my PPL in 37 hours, as the 141 minimum is 35 (the lowest range starts at 40).

    Jeeps are good.

I bought an '08 Jeep Liberty two years ago. I've enjoyed it so far and, knock on wood, haven't had any issues thus far.

Been to Elephant Mountain a number of times. I love visiting it, though it does give you goosebumps.
