    Failed Medical - Options Advice?

I accept that inevitably it was my responsibility to know the ins and outs of the medical exam but I do wish my CFI had described it in more detail. I wish he had grabbed my shoulders and shaken me a bit. He did encourage me to get it ASAP so that I would know ASAP whether or not I'd be able to...

    Failed Medical - Options Advice?

I'm curious about this as well. I'm leaning toward taking a break for personal reasons and getting the test done when I decide to come back to my training in a couple of months. Doc, you still in here? Care to opine on this? Based on prior posts in this thread I believe I no longer qualify...

    Failed Medical - Options Advice?

Duly noted. I'm just thinking that maybe they should have a separate medical for weekend warriors who only fly out of small airports in perfect weather. Perhaps that's not feasible.

    Failed Medical - Options Advice?

Correct. With that in mind, I'm now off the clock, yes? I got the initial letter asking for the ADHD test and given a 30 day timeframe before they automatically fail me. I asked for a 30 day extension and they granted it. Now it doesn't really matter, correct? I can get the test done...

    Failed Medical - Options Advice?

I agree. At the time I didn't think much about it. I said "Doc, I'm having some work issues." The doc said "Here, try some of this and see if this helps." I did. It didn't. I should have said I was not interested but I didn't. My fault and now I must pay the price. Couple things to discuss...

    Failed Medical - Options Advice?

[smile] Yeah, after I replied to him I clicked his sig link and saw that the person offering me advice was not just "anybody." It's actually comforting to know that others are in the same boat as me. If I'm understanding Dr. Chien properly it appears that I will have an official "declined"...

    Failed Medical - Options Advice?

I forgot to say thank you for the advice you gave. Thank you. :-) I just found out about this a few minutes ago so I'm still a little flustered. But, as much as I hate this saying...."it is what it is." One way or another I'll get past it. Thank you again for your advice.

    Failed Medical - Options Advice?

Yup. That's the exact page they sent me. It was surprisingly difficult to find a "licensed clinical psychologist who is either board certified or “board eligible” in clinical neuropsychology." And the first one I found quoted me $1900-$2100 for the exam. I'm actually not that averse to...

    Failed Medical - Options Advice?

Hello, all. So, my dreams of being a pilot have been dealt a blow. I filled out all of the info for my medical and being the honest man that I am I gave them every single detail they asked for thinking nothing I mentioned would be a big deal. I was wrong. I took some adhd...

    Soloing

Are you allowed to record your lessons? And if so, are you? I've recorded my last two lessons and I have found that reviewing those lessons over and over have been invaluable to me in retaining the information in the lesson. Doesn't need to be anything super high def. Just enough so that you...

Recording Audio Communications in a Cessna 172?

Just to clarify, that's not me in that video I referenced. It's just a video I found in my search for how to record audio. That kid is a LOT younger and apparently a LOT smarter then me.

Recording Audio Communications in a Cessna 172?

No Ipod. Where's the embarrassment emoticon? :dunno: I thought about that but wasn't sure. I was also concerned that even if it did have jacks in the back, maybe they'd be turned down at the panel and I'd miss everything since I wouldn't be hearing exactly what's piping into the backseat...

Recording Audio Communications in a Cessna 172?

Thank you both. For the benefit of others having a similar question in the future, my issue was that the headsets I use have TWO wires/plugs so when I saw others instructing on how to record audio and only showing one wire, I was getting confused. Turns out only one of the headset plugs is...

Recording Audio Communications in a Cessna 172?

Hello all. Very low hour PPL student here. Only done 3 lessons. The day after every one of them I kept wishing I had recorded it so I could go over it a few times. I feel like, if I can record each lesson and review it each time, I'll be able to retain more from each lesson and be able to get...

    Low-cost flying at its best...

Re: Low-cost flying at it's best... Yup. Checked it out last night before I made my post and have it bookmarked for future review. Good info on there. Thanks for that.

    Low-cost flying at its best...

Re: Low-cost flying at it's best... Cool video. Looking forward to more of those. I think this was addressed in another thread when you first bought your FlyBaby but can you give a quick summary on engine, cruise speed, gph at cruise, empty and gross max weight?
