    IFR in Class G airpace

So if you are on a course of 350 at 060, you arent worried about somebody being on a course of 190 at 060 also? You're pretty much head on with a minimum 200kt closure rate. Even in 1sm visibility, thats really not enough time to perform an evasive maneuver. What about the guy who got a...

    Suffix G

You can give direct anywhere if the plane is RNAV equipped. The fly heading XXX, cleared direct YYY on course is done for spacing.

    Suffix G

Nobody's going to report you for a PD if they give you a direct clearance and you take it. Just make sure you actually go direct and not a 20nm wide arc between the 2 points.

    IFR in Class G airpace

Yeah and you confused me. Are you referring to OTP or flying on instruments through IMC class G? The only reason I can think of that the airspace would be G instead of E is lack of radar coverage. The airways are E regardless of radar coverage and I wasnt aware that people actually gave directs...

    Suffix G

The controllers have your suffix right there in front of them so they know you are a /U. Most planes they work, however, are /G, /R, /L, or /Q with the occasional Delta being /W and some GAs being /A, so they tend to forget if they arent looking at your strip when they issue it. Bring the GPS...

    IFR in Class G airpace

IFR flight requires an ATC clearance. ATC will never give an IFR clearance into G airspace except an approach or departure clearance. On approach you are required to fly the approach cleared by and on departure you are required to remain clear of obstacles ("Verify this clearance will comply...

    'Ask the Controller' Thread

It depends on the radar coverage. You cant be radar vectored if you are in a nonradar area or there is an outage. The procedure turn is a nonradar procedure so you see it more in mountainous areas. Generally the controller wants to get you down as quickly as possible and the quickest way is via...
