Need a sample FAA bill of sale

My ex-wife and I were co-owners of our airplane and as part of the divorce settlement I got 100 percent ownership of the airplane. I've tried once to submit the correct paperwork to the FAA to get the record changed with the aircraft in my name only and it was rejected. Does anyone have a...

What's a fair hourly rate for a plumber?

I had some unpleasantness with a plumber and his pricing yesterday. He came out to quote me on a rather simple repair. He said it would take 2 hours and his "rate book" said the cost would be $450. I asked for an hourly rate and he would not give it. The job would take a maximum of $40 in...

Formation of F-22's over SF Bay yesterday morning...

Three, with one peeling away over the north side of the bay. Anyone else see them. I found one report that there was a TFR intercept at OAK as well.

Rejected takeoff on a commercial flight

The wife was coming home from MSP on Delta a few days ago and the pilot rejected the takeoff and taxied back to the gate. Delta gave her a $100 credit for the stress. She said it wasn't nearly as stressful as a slip to landing in our CTSW... Anyone else ever have or do a rejected takeoff on a...

Does a BFR recipient need to be the PIC?

Never mind. Just realized the answer must be no. Otherwise pilots overdue would never be able to become current again.

    Four place airplane

I've decided that my light sport airplane can't fly the missions I have in mind and I'm looking to replace it with a used 4-place airplane for about $40,000. No retracts, relatively inexpensive maintenance and operating costs. It looks like it comes down to a 172 or a non-RG Cardinal. I'm...

Need a 10 knot crosswind to practice..

I took a friend flying a couple of days ago. AWOS was saying a 3 knot crosswind. I tracked the centerline dead-nuts until the flair then drifted about 5 feet laterally as I touched down. No harm, nice soft touchdown, but I felt rusty for not nailing it. Anyone else been there, done that...

    Got a new "rating" today

FAA "Technician of Record". I'm authorized to inspect, repair and calibrate Allweather AWOS stations. I took a 1 week course at Allweather, followed around technicians for a couple of days, and passed my FAA "checkride" today. I had a great time.
