    Captain Levy’s Checkride Advice

License , certificate....rating. All fine. I just hate it when one calls it a "ticket". Kinda minimizes it, IMHO.

Which Airplane Has The Right Of Way?

Or the ever practicable; aways yield. Act as if the other guy doesn't see you.

What do you do for living (or used to)?

Retired Airline Pilot of 35 years. Navy Pilot before that.

    Trouble maintaining level flight

Way back when, in Navy Flight training, Instructors would suggest...When you are bored sitting there, trim. It is a constant balancing act.

    Got my IR ticket

Pet peeve.... don't call it a "ticket". That's bush. Call it a rating.

If you have trouble with this one, you aren't ready.

Possible to Buy Radio Just to Listen???

Just buy a handheld VHF radio. If you take up flying you'll need one. Otherwise it's a fun toy to hang around the airport with. Easily sellable on airplane forums or ebay.

    Four pilots indicted

YOU get to decide. The fact is, if you are remotely troubled by the decision, you really have decided. You KNOW it's wrong.

    Four pilots indicted

Vel123 -- sounds like you have some integrity. That's what they used to teach back in the good old days. You don't "teach" integrity. You either have it or you don't. It's knowing the not so subtle differences between right and wrong...and acting on them.

    Paying by check...

This has NOT been my experience. I just returned from a cruise around Great Britain with stops in Ireland, Scotland and England. Apple Pay was accepted everywhere, including roadside snack stands.

    To pre buy or not...

Bizarre.... Nice looking airplane. IMHO, if I trusted the mechanic, that would be good enough. Just because you get a pre-buy inspection DOES NOT guarantee anything. I think it boils down to the $$$$ involved. If I was spending upwards of a quarter million I would definitely get a second...

    Was I being unreasonable?

If you are vested in the club, have a financial stake in it, you are absolutely wise to question this. Imagine the worst case scenario. YOU, as an "owner" could be the target of a lawsuit because YOU have the deepest pockets.

    June 1, 2019 what will a GNS430W cost?

They didn't totally abandon the 480....yet. They just limited Factory Support to operating issues; no more cosmetic support.

    Garmin 175 with GTX33es

Don't think so. You need the 375 to get the transponder/ADSB.

    ADS-B decision

Swapping your 330ES for the 375 is the option I'd go for. It will give you a pictoral GPS moving map as well as ADSB in/out. Like most owners of the 480, I love the little box. Well ahead of its' time. Still there for #1 Comm/VOR/ILS and GPS. And, as I'm sure you know, the 375 will continue to...

Can someone tell me the reasoning behind the "Call for price" listings?

"Call For Price" is used when the seller is ashamed of his price.

Southwest passengers preparing to die in attempted landing

Most people in airplanes are terrified to be there. And, we're going to have pilotless airliners soon ? No way, Jose.

    GTX345 and the CNX80/GNS480

Well, it locks you out until you press a button. Duh. Not too difficult for an actual pilot.
