That was listed on Facebook Marketplace here in the Detroit area last week. He was asking 30k, but a couple days ago he changed the listing to 18K and sold. I remember seeing this plane at Plymouth Mettetal airport years ago when I was flying out of there. It was a beautiful plane then!

I am just trying to understand what they are showing. The winds, ceiling and altimeter all are pretty self explanatory... What is the outer ring with the plane trying to depict?

As long as you do not fall into a small group of problems needing an SI (mental illness, heart problems, etc), then you are correct.

Can you provide a link to that? I have been searching the AirVenture website, and can only find info on lodging (hotels, private houses, and dorms). All the camping they seem to reference is on airport EAA camping.

Getting a N number is easy....mail your money in and reserve it. Being able to use that N number on a plane that has a certificate of airworthiness is a completely different animal.

He said it has two seats, so right from the start it does not qualify for 103. If you remove a seat and put a 5 gallon tank on it, it is possible, but unlikely, able to meet 103 weight requirements. There are ways to still get a cert of airworthiness for it, but most are pretty shady...

There are 3 different seals in that area that everyone is talking about. One is the oring that goes on the front of the crankshaft and seals the prop to the crank flange. The next is the crank seal that goes around the front of the crank and seals the outside of the crank to the engine case...

I was always taught that in class A airspace, all flights need to be on an IFR flight plan. How did he get IFR clearance in a plane that is clearly not IFR capable? Just trying to learn ;)

I am not sure how you expected to get an accurate number from POA. Its not like every plane flying with a o-233 in America has a representative on here, and there is no database of part failures that I know of. Good luck with the replacement!
