What would happen if lightning hit one of our planes while flying?

I'm pretty sure that's how you get super powers.

    shade tree engine mount repair

Every time I see my plane decoweled, I think those 4 little bolts that hold the engine on don't look sufficient, and I wish I had cables in case they fall off. Then I look at how the engine mount attaches to the rest of the airframe and I don't feel so bad about the engine mounts anymore...

500lb WWII American bomb explodes at Japanese airport

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/articles/cly5l4nxgg9o.amp Kind of amazing. A little surprised that they know there's a number of bombs in the area. At this point I suppose it's safer to not touch them.

Skew-T diagrams removed because blind people can’t see them

I knew I was too close for missiles and had already switched to guns.

I have also had that experience. No bueno. At first I thought it was the gear horn... Nope 3 green, then the stall horn... No airspeed is good.. Then I thought it was the master caution until I remembered I don't have one of those. Then I was convinced it was the engine coming from together.

First Annual North Texas Winter Extravaganza - Cedar Mills (3T0)

The only one I definitely can't do is that last weekend that runs into February as I have an obligation that week/weekend in Santa Ana. Now, if we did it the weekend before that, I might be able to convince the Mrs. to fly the Lance to California (I mean, Texas is halfway there if you squint...

First Annual North Texas Winter Extravaganza - Cedar Mills (3T0)

Tagging for updates. Our regular Florida spot got whacked by the hurricane (as it was just getting back on its feet from Ian), so we're thinking this might be the linchpin of a longer winter family trip.

Hit 600 hours in the Lance on the way back from Gaston's today. Our 4 year anniversary is in a month.

Terrible. But as usual, I'll try to make it. And as usual, be more successful than @RyanB

Have you ever spent six hours with your underwear on backwards?

This question came up this evening. A certain POAer admitted to discovering his underwear was on backwards, after several hours. We feel he should probably report this on his next form 8500.

60 knot direct tailwind at 6000 (!). 209 over the ground. Surprisingly it was quite smooth. Thinking I should fly in hurricanes more often.

Upcoming AD for many more PA-28 and PA-36 wing spars. 100 anomalies and 6 cracked wings found

I didn't say arrows over 200hp. I said 28s over 200 hp. Which is really just the Pathfinder and Dakota. But you're right, it does include all arrows too, so it was poorly worded.

Upcoming AD for many more PA-28 and PA-36 wing spars. 100 anomalies and 6 cracked wings found

The issue is that realistically, it doesn't matter what the spar costs. The labor to put it in will make it a rounding error. The entire wing is built around it & attached to it. You're basically building a new wing from scratch. It might be economical for some newer planes, and maybe some...
