    Please be more clear. The 396 has 2 batteries. An internal battery soldered to the circuit board and a much larger battery, which is removable and can easily be replaced. Which battery is bad? They both could be bad, eh? The unit needs both batteries to navigate, unless it is plugged into the AC...
