From an unusual place too.

Wow, that thing came a long way. What on earth is it?

I asked one of the pilots what it was and what I got out of what he said was that it started with at "P" and ended in 750. He had quite the accent. I looked it up and it's a Pacific Aerospace 750XL modified for survey.

Whenever I thought I have seen the ugliest plane on the planet.....

Similar to the Wilga, it is ugly but rather functional. Some of these are used for ag-work, I guess the downward visibility with those droopy cockpit windows is rather good.

Local ParaJumpers here have one, I think it is a PAC-12.
Burns half the fuel of a Cessna Caravan in jump operations.

It's not mine personally. The guy that runs the skydiving concession at the airport bought it for parts. He'll be using it to support the 2 or 3 Paks he already owns. It got here crammed in a 40' shipping container.

popular in New Zealand, a mate of mine had one for meat bombing, they also use them for AG work,,,fugly is the word that springs to mind,,,don't think they actually fly, just so damn ugly the earth repels them, same aerodynamic principle as the helicopter! :)
