Showdown on the Plains Airshow and BBQ Challenge - Scott City, Kansas

Love BBQ? Flying? Live music? Family fun? Join us for the 2011 Showdown on the Plains BBQ Challenge and Aerobatics Show! Over 1,500 people attended this event in 2010 and this year should be even better! Professionals and amateurs will be competing for a $7,500 purse and the afternoon highlight will be a gravity-defying aerobatics show by four aerobatic pilots from KS and CO. The day's activities will also include local musicians, electric car races, airplane rides and games for the kids.

KTQK is within my range, only going to cost about $1000. Tempting... The problem is however, it has to be an overnight trip. I am not strong enough to fly two 4-hour legs and have a fun-filled day in the blazing sun in between.
