Metformin and BasicMed

If one starts taking Metformin to help with weight loss (no sign of diabetes, pre-Metformin A1C 5.3), what requirements does the FAA have in place? Obviously I will discuss with the BasicMed-signing doctor as well.

No problem. I've been on Metformin both on Class 3 and Basic Med. No big deal, but I have Type 2. Trust me, it does nothing for weight loss. Only change of diet and exercise will do that.

Same here, mostly. The main thing it does on that front is making any food that's in transit "expedite off", which is worth a handful of lbs.
