Avonic upgrade on a FTP337G Reims

Hello,

I own a Cessna U206G and I am very happy with it. I have the possibility to invest in a Cessna FTB337G 1974 Reims aviation turbo project.
The plane is sold without avonic and I am looking for a reasonable solution for a modern avionic. My budget is around 30-40K

I imagined these 2 options:

Garmin G3X 10''6 landscape Display with 6 cylinders ESI

Garmin radio GTR 225 As second radio

I doubt you'll get option 1 for anywhere near your budget. I'd be very surprised if you could get option 2 for that budget either. I can't offer any quotes for the 337, but this is just my thought, shooting from the hip.

One thing to watch with the G3X is that it will not drive legacy autopilots.

I am looking at putting one in my Mooney, but it requires replacing the autopilot also.

The G500TXi will drive legacy autopilots, but costs more. Total price for both paths is about the same.

Which model are you actually talking about, you mention FTP337G in the title and FTB337G in the body. If it’s an FTB337G you’d likely have some issues with as that does not appear on any of the AML STCs. If it’s and FT337GP, that is on some of the Garmin AML STCs, but not on the G3X.

A dual GI-375 wired to existing AP, existing WAAS, and the vacuum system pulled was quoted close to $16k for a buddy.

My own plane which came with a JPI 700, STEC 55x and 430W is going to run ~30k for an Aspen 2000, vacuum removal and install of a used Lynx-9000D+.

You might be able to get dual GI-275, GTN 750xi and GTX 345 for 40k. For a twin, engine monitors are extremely expensive in terms of labor.
