Seeking an advice from Dr. Bruce @bbchien or others knowledgeable here:
I had a finger tendinitis and random pains in random joints for the past two months which were resolved after a systemic steroid shot given my rheumatologist three weeks ago. Blood work for rheumatoid arthritis and other common arthritis causes all came back negative. Subsequent check for HLA B27 came back positive however.
At a recent follow-up regarding HLA B27 positive case the doc said he's going for undifferentiated spondyloarthritis (USpA). Because there's basically no active symptom right now he started me on the NSAID mobic 7.5mg. He does find everything stable and has no problem me going back to work as a commercial pilot (1C medical).
Knowing the CACI arthritis worksheet, I asked him if this falls below the traditional ankylosing spondylitis (AS) category and he said yes, but I am wondering if I could continue under CACI or this would require an additional special issuance (I have one active that was approved recently) decision from AMCD. A second autoimmune condition right after the first one ::facepalm::
I appreciate your input. Thank you again for reading.
