I've owned a PA-22 for 17 years. It's carried me (and my wife) a lot of fun places.
I've got a deposit for it in my hand. :(
Unfortunately as one grows older you become less limber, and I have a difficult time getting in and out of it.
Also it's kinda dumb for an 84 year old to have 2 planes. :)
That said as I get it ready for its departure I find I am sorry to let it go.
Here's a shot of it right after I handed over a check. I'm departing for my home field in 2005.

Wait ... I thought airplanes were like girlfriends with the "two good days" thing going on ...

Seriously, (as Bill C would say), "I feel your pain."

Years ago I sold a Bonanza after 24 years ownership. Picked up the buyer in Hammond and flew up to Jackson where I was to ride home commercial in a few days. After renting a car at the airline terminal, before driving away I was afraid to look in the direction of the FBO; I might see my old betrayed friend.

But you upgraded to a mooney and now all is well!
