I was just watching a documentary the other night about this new telescope, and all of the testing it has gone through before launch. They discussed all of the lessons learned from Hubble, and how they couldn't afford to make the same type of mistakes with this satellite.

One of the reasons is they designed the JWST to not be field serviceable like the Hubble as the L2 orbit is outside any current or near future capabilities to send a repair team. However, they did include a docking ring on the Bus side just in case they want to snag it and bring it home... or bring to a Lunar based CRS.
