First image from the Webb space telescope!

I was just watching a documentary the other night about this new telescope, and all of the testing it has gone through before launch. They discussed all of the lessons learned from Hubble, and how they couldn't afford to make the same type of mistakes with this satellite.

how they couldn't afford to make the same type of mistakes with this satellite.
One of the reasons is they designed the JWST to not be field serviceable like the Hubble as the L2 orbit is outside any current or near future capabilities to send a repair team. However, they did include a docking ring on the Bus side just in case they want to snag it and bring it home... or bring to a Lunar based CRS.;)

Harsh! :cornut:

It will be 6 months before the first image comes around. Let's hope this isn't what we see.

I have someone I know who worked on the JWST a number of years ago. I posted that on Facebook just to jerk his chain. It did.

10 billion dollar telescope. You could buy 130 F-35A aircraft for 10B. I hope it takes good pics.
