Dorothy: not in Kansas anymore
I just signed up, and the robot says I should make two posts and it suggests an introduction.

There is a two facts, one lie game in a nearby thread. I could try to win it, but we don't know one another. So that might take a while.

Instead: I offer mostly true twice and mostly false once.

1) I own a sentient Cessna 120 that has learned how to use ASD-B to communicate over the internet.
2) I am an A & P certificated mechanic
3) I am a crazy lady who talks to her airplane.

Well,

TRUE: 1) I own a sentient Cessna 120 that has learned how to use ASD-B to communicate over the internet.
80% TRUE 2) I am a certificated mechanic, Airframe, but that is 80% of my airplane by weight...
FALSE: 3) I am a crazy lady who talks to her airplane. Crazy is NOT talking to (and more importantly listening to) your airplane.

Cool. I won and will go again.

1) I trained at "Mother Rucker" as a 68G
2) I spent three years in Germany mostly setting up hot refuel / rearm points for UH-1s
3) I have rebuilt several C-120, C-140, and straight tail C-150s.

The answers:

TRUE: 1) I trained at "Mother Rucker" as a 68G (now it's 15 something or other) Aircraft Structural Repairwoman
TRUE: 2) I spent three years in Germany mostly setting up hot refuel / rearm points for UH-1s. Seconded to Quartermaster Corps, it's a long story.
FALSE: 3) I have rebuilt several C-120, C-140, and straight tail C-150s. I have worked on the metal of a few, but I did not rebuild them.

So, that is one post...

Welcome! Quite the first post!
Mom is from a bit south of you. This is one of her favorite Merle Haggard songs.

(The site won't let me link it.)

We don't smoke marijuana in Muskogee
We don't take no trips on LSD
We don't burn no draft cards down on Main Street
We like livin' right, and bein' free

I'm proud to be an Okie from Muskogee
A place where even squares can have a ball
We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse
And white lightnin's still the biggest thrill of all

We don't make a party out of lovin'
We like holdin' hands and pitchin' woo
We don't let our hair grow long and shaggy
Like the hippies out in San Francisco do

And I'm proud to be an Okie from Muskogee
A place where even squares can have a ball
We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse
And white lightnin's still the biggest thrill of all

Leather boots are still in style for manly footwear
Beads and Roman sandals won't be seen
Football's still the roughest thing on campus
And the kids here still respect the college dean

We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse
In Muskogee, Oklahoma, U.S.A.

Fun fact: Merle Haggard had never been to Muskogee when he wrote that song. His parents were from Checota though, which is close enough. He reportedly chose Muskogee after seeing it on a highway sign while driving down the road.

Welcome to PoA! Please post a pic of your airplane with a pencil, or maybe a pancake on its head.
