GTN750 Com Selection / Com 1,2,3

Bit of a tricky problem. I have a GTN750 as my primary Radio/Nav. I have a second King KY196 Radio only. I have a 3rd Garmin GNC255 Radio/Nav. It looks something like this:

GTN750 Com 1 NAV 1
KY196 Com 2
GNC255 Com 3 NAV2


The KY196 Radio has failed. I want to leave the KY196 radio in the panel and use Com 1 and Com 3. I can use the Audio Panel menu on the GTN750 to monitor radio 1 & 3. I can also select the Mic for Com 1 and Com 3 from the audio panel menu.


However when I try to select Com 1 or Com 3 from the main screen it defaults to Com 1 or 2, same thing for the Mic button. It will only allow Mic 1 or Mic 2 from a primary screen.

Is there a programming method to make Com 1 and Com 3, Mic 1 & 3 the default?
Is there a programming method to disable Com 2?
Is there a programming method to relabel Com 2 and Com 3?

Just to add a comment or two what I am looking to do. When I press the mic button from the map page it toggles between Mic 1 and Mic 2. The only way to select Mic 3 in through the audio panel menu.
When I press the MON button from the map page it toggles between Comm 1 and Comm 2. The only way to select MON Comm 3 is through the audio panel screen.

Is there a way to set up the 750 so that it toggles between Mic 1 and 3 and Mon 1 and 3?

I would hazard a guess that you need to go into the config menu on the 750 and enable com3.

Unfortunately config menu is not going to do it. At this point it looks like changing the hard wiring.

Get your KY196 repaired or buy a replacement...problem solved .
