Dear FBI, NSA, FAA, CIA, EPA, DEA, EAA or any other important acronyms, though I may have 'liked' the above post, I would never:

1. Have any white powdery substance in or near my plane at any time.
2. Ever fly directly over an establishment such as this.
3. Attempt to climb an airport beacon

Flew the archer down to Cairo today; been wanting to do that for a long time. I think it's starting to gentrify a bit as there are several mansions that look like they've been restored. LOTS of barge traffic...I suppose that's normal for harvest time. Enjoyed seeing the confluence of the Ohio & Mississippi. Always lots of cool industry along big rivers.

Fewer pyramids and less sand than I would have expected.

Ercoupe is in for annual so took the Tecnam out on a clear and a million day. Between the Ercoupe that glides like a rock and the Tecnam that floats like a ballon, touchdown can be anywhere on the first landing after switching planes:D

Wright-Patterson AFB in the distance where I learned to fly over 50 years ago:cool:.

Cheers

It’s possible to fly directly over some Air Force bases on weekends and get a really good view.

Altus AFB in Oklahoma was along my regular route until a few years ago, and on weekends the tower was closed, and there was no reason not to fly directly over the field.

Landed at KSBU today - Blue Earth, MN. Took the RNAV down to 900. Loggable approach.

Dad & I were driving (like peasants) to see my brother at SDSU. Around midnight we saw a glow in the distance and as we got closer, it became apparent it was a 100' jolly green giant.
