When does the North 40 open for parking and camping

I see the tower hours start on Thursday before the show, but can you go even earlier to get a good spot?

IIRC it's open as early as Tuesday, by Wednesday for sure but unless you're volunteering I don't see the point of arriving that early. Nothing will be open including the shuttles/trams--you'll have to leave the field for everything. I don't think even all the porta-potties will be in place by then.

Yeah, but you get to be up front.

As long as you're prepared to subsist until all the support systems are up and running, it seems like it would be a cool way to watch the show come to life.

I am still 100% remote...working from Oshkosh doesn't seem like a bad way to do it. And the Wi-fi/Cellular with barely anyone there should be somewhat usable.

North 40 WiFi bandwidth is not that great even before everybody shows up. And if there is a navdata update during the show the bandwidth will be brought to its knees.
