Needed to exercise the plane, and we're out of beer, so I had to make a run across the border. Yuengling isn't sold in Illinois.

The liquor store sign was just too appropriate. Unfortunately they didn't have anything but cans so I had to go to the grocery store. I get a strange pleasure of driving around in old police cars. Just me?

what's yuengling flight?

It's a light beer they came out with somewhat recently. Haven't tried it yet. I don't generally care for light beer, but I couldn't resist based on the name alone.

I'm pretty sure they got an exception to the 8 hour rule, and if you get pulled over by the sky cops they can't do anything about it.

Interesting. I like good ol’ regular yuengling. And the black n tan.

Three mile island, 2019. Two of the reactors were still running in 2019.

Overnighted at El Paso on a 2 day trip from Tennessee back home to California. I've read about the Super Guppy, but I've never seen it before. Turns out it's based at El Paso. What an amazing looking plane.

By the windsock am guessing you had a tailwind landing 26L ... they don't switch to RWY 8 and 4 often as commercial AC have to fly over Mexican airspace (which there is an LOA, but am guessing there are some headaches involved). Nice photo!

Nope. Thursday night landed on 8R. Departed Friday morning (That's when I took the pic of the Super Guppy) also on 8R.

El Paso is a neat little airport. Seems fairly GA friendly. I'm guessing you're based there? From Airnav, looks like a lot more GA planes based there than my homedrome of San Jose (KSJC) and about half the daily operations. I like the fact that KELP has self serve fuel. No such thing in San Jose.

These are old photos I found while looking for baby pics for my daughters baby shower this afternoon. Identical twin girls to be delivered 4/27/2021.

I call this one - Death of an Airplane.

Happier time.

Is that one of the daughters who is having the twins and what is the story of the plane underwater?

Not my daughter, just a couple of passengers. That pic was taken at M06, Havre de Grace seaplane base. The PA-12S was purchased to operate a sightseeing business in the British Virgin Islands. My business partner proceeded to sink it. The details, well lets just say he was swamped by the responsibilities. A sad end to a beautiful airplane.

Ah I see. If the pictures were in reverse order it would make more sense. I was thinking it was restored or something. But I agree, is was a beautiful airplane.

I'm based about 15 miles west at Dona Ana (KDNA). Self serve there ... the War Eagles Museum is worth the stop. All planes are kept ready to fly even though they're on static display.

No class...but very funny! Congrats on the narrow victory.

Did your wife give you permission to make shorts out of the living room drapes? :D;)

HAHAHA, yes!!!!!! yes she did. well, you're assuming I have drapes. or a wife. or even really know what drapes are.
