While going through some old photos I found this picture of my wife, taken before I met her when she was in her early 20s. I knew her best friend's Uncle Joe had a plane, but I was a surprised to see it was a Navion. My wife and her friend Rita lived in St Louis, and Joe lived in New Jersey. When they visited, he would fly them around New Jersey and New York, taking in the sights.
When I found the photo, I excitedly began telling my wife the story about North American Aviation, WWII, the P-51, the post war aviation boom, and...
Her eyes glazed over, and she said "It was a plane. We went on rides in it."
Edit: I had some Flickr issues. Here's the photo. It's not a good image, but it was probably taken with a Kodak Instamatic 110.
