Anyone successfully power their 300XL at home via a 13V adapter?
I looked at the jack and the adapter garmin used to sell, and tried, but no joy. The unit works great in the plane.

(yes, I know it’s an artifact from the olden days, but it’s paid for and it works- brand new database, too)!

Yes. And we recently moved and I came across the charger unit. Where it is now.......wow............in some box somewhere!!

hey, sell it to me when you find it! :D

I just can’t figure out why the generic DC adapter I’ve tried won’t do the trick.

What is the output voltage of your adapter, is the polarity correct, and does the plug fit snugly, or is it kind of loose?

I’ve done exactly this, with a leftover power supply from some other piece of electronics. As long as the voltage, plug size, polarity are correct, and the current capacity adequate, it should work fine.

Got it. Earlier attempt was 12V, 1.5A. No go.
12V, 2.5A did the job.
