OK. I'm going to date myself, I remember an aviation bone yard southeast of Cleveland that had a F2G in need of some TLC.
And I remember sitting on the running board of my Dad's Hudson Terraplane watching the Cleveland Air Races.

Line Up and Wait
I grew up off the end of the runway at Akron Municipal Airport (where Goodyear Aircraft built the Corsairs, and also where the Goodyear Airdock is located). The Airport was also a Naval Air Station in those days,
and I remember Navy Corsairs flying over the house daily. Later the squadron based at Akron transitioned to Bearcats. Another frequent sight were the several blimps the Navy kept at Akron. IIRC that came to an
end around 1960 when the NAS closed. The airport is still there - and looks about like it did in its glory days. Now it is named Fulton Field, after the longtime Airport Manager "Shorty" Fulton.
